This is a Russian made tractor puller thing. It can be unhitched from this wagon and can pull just about anything. An odd contraption.



An island looking N on the road between Bharatpur and Mugling. You can see how the river splits out to the right and comes back to the left to rejoin. There are two buildings on the front ridge but it is hard to believe that people would actually live there. Oh, that's right, this is Nepal and these folks can live anywhere!

Pokhara Airport, looking to the North. You can see the terrain and how it might affect the approach. It is the same story on the other side. There are NO instrument approaches into this airport. It is hard to imagine a Buddha Air BE 1900 coming from Kathmandu making a visual approach. Yet, moments after this picture was taken, that is exactly what occurred, just as my camera batteries quit. A classic example of the only Nepali rule: There are no rules!

Well, no flying still. The MoA is still not budging. This has shocked me. These greedy, inept, know nothing scumbags are ruining a perfectly good business. And Nepal has precious few of those. In addition, they are pissing on my parade. I am of the opinion that Shivani Air will be unable to sustain itself much longer. We shall see.

Anyhow, the rain abated, finally, and I made the return trip from Pokhara. I got rained on for only the final half hour. There was only one close call. Not bad, considering the degree of difficulty.
